potekglass is the glass working duo of Malcom Potek and Kara van Wyk.   Primarily focused on kilnformed glass, we also bring torchworking, casting, coldworking and glass painting skills to our designs.  We have worked individually and collaboratively on our glass pieces for the last 17 years.

Torch tables available for rent.
Big Dipper Glassworks is located in the California Building in NE Minneapolis.  We lease table spaces for glass torch workers. The spaces are 4'x4' torch tables within our studio.  We are on the 6th floor of a secured building with off street parking.    You bring the torch, the glass and the propane.  You pay for oxygen as you need it, (the space includes oxygen delivery). 
$200/mo for a one year lease, or $210/mo without.

In 2004, potekglass moved into a studio space in the California Building, in NE Minneapolis, MN.  We call the studio big dipper glassworks. 
In this space we:
    teach classes
    lease torch table space, (both hourly and monthly)            
    rent cold working equipment and kiln time at $20/hr
    invite instructors for special workshops
    participate in NE arts district events
    host glass meetings
and generally try to be a resource to those interested in pursuing glass as a fine craft.
