New Studio, Glass Classes, and Exciting Summer Camps

Potekglass is officially settled into our new studio in the Flux Arts Building! We’re excited to kick off the New Year in this beautiful new space, and we’re celebrating with a grand opening event. Join us for a tour of the building, where you’ll have the chance to see how we work and celebrate sustainable, artist-owned spaces in Northeast Minneapolis. Enjoy refreshments, win door prizes, and meet fellow glass enthusiasts!

New Studio Celebration
We are proud to announce that we are officially open in our new studio, Suite C in the Flux Arts Building. This is the beginning of a new chapter, and we invite you to come explore our new space. It’s a vibrant artist community, and we’re excited to be part of it. Join us for the grand opening celebration and get a closer look at the creativity and craftsmanship behind our glass pieces.

Artist in the World: Trey Cornette
This month, we’re showcasing the work of Trey Cornette, a renowned lampworker who began his career making beads over 15 years ago. Trey has evolved from creating soft glass beads to mastering borosilicate marble making. With years of experience teaching glasswork, Trey continues to inspire with his innovative techniques and commitment to his craft.

• Hearts and Wine Try-iT!

  • Saturday, February 9 | 6:00 - 9:00 PM
  • Looking for a unique date night for Valentine's Day weekend? Bring your valentine and create heart-shaped pendants and paperweights while enjoying wine. No experience necessary!

• Kiln Try-iT!

  • Saturday, February 23 | 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Explore kiln-forming and create glass tiles by cutting patterns, making frit, and working with different glass formats.

• Crackin' the Kiln Code

  • Thursdays, February 21 - March 14 | 6:00 - 8:30 PM
  • Learn the basics of warm glass! Create beads, tiles, bowls, and small sculptures while discovering various kiln techniques.

• Cast Your Summer in Glass: Kids Summer Camp

  • Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12
  • Potekglass is offering a week-long camp for kids to unplug and explore the creative side of glass art. Apply math and chemistry to create their own unique glass pieces. It’s an enriching experience led by Malcom, with over 17 years of teaching experience. Featured in MN Parent Magazine.

Private Events at Potekglass
Looking for a fun and creative outing for your group? Book a private event with us and learn glass basics while making one-of-a-kind creations. Whether it’s a custom blue pendant for a bride-to-be, a tile inspired by your book club's favorite read, or hand-made beads, we provide everything you need to create something beautiful. Make memories with friends and family while creating with your hands!
